FAQ

Minecraft schematics, explained.

What is a Minecraft schematic?

A schematic is a file that stores a region of a Minecraft world — every block, its position and its state — so a build can be saved, shared and pasted into another world. Structmatic reads and writes the common formats: .schem, .litematic, .nbt and .mcstructure.

Can AI generate a Minecraft build?

Yes. Describe the build in a sentence, or upload a reference image, and Structmatic generates a textured 3D model, matches its surfaces to Minecraft blocks and hands you a schematic you can place in your world. You can then edit the result block by block in the studio.

How do I import a schematic into Minecraft?

On Java, drop a .schem file into your WorldEdit schematics folder and run //schematic load followed by //paste, or open a .litematic in the Litematica mod to place it as a guide. On Bedrock, a .mcstructure file goes in your world’s structures folder and is placed with a structure block.

Which schematic formats can Structmatic export?

Sponge .schem for WorldEdit and FAWE, .litematic for Litematica, vanilla structure .nbt, Bedrock .mcstructure, and a complete Minecraft world as a .zip when you would rather walk around the build than paste it.

Do I need to install anything to edit a build?

No. The studio is a browser-based Minecraft schematic editor — import an existing schematic, paint, sculpt, transform and re-export it without an install and without an account.

Are the builds in the gallery free to download?

Yes. Every public build in the community gallery can be downloaded as a schematic or remixed into your own library and edited in the studio.
